Hello,
I am an F1 visa student and am marrying my sweetheart who is an American citizen. We are planning to pick up the marriage license tomorrow, in MA. I know one of the questions is "residence". Do I put my local residence (I've been here for about 6 years) or my foreign residence? I do not want to jeopardize my status.

since u'r a student in legal status & u live in US for last 6 yr..... so u've to have a US address..... i think it will be best to put US address..... it will keep things simple..... there is nothing wrong with u having a US address.... becoz u live here......

Hi All,
I hold different administrative and accounting responsibilities in my company. My company can't sponsor me as an accountant, because I don't have too much experience.
Are there any other occupation which can fit my responsibilities to get an H1B visa?

I'm an unmarried Indian national and came to the US on H-1B visa. My father petitioned for me in FB F1 category. My priority date is September 1, 1999. I applied for AOS in the US and received my EAD and AP. I recently met a girl doing job on H-1B(Indian national) and we will like to tie the knot in near future. I was wondering if it would have any effect on my AOS processing( I do not have the actual Green card yet). Will my category change to F3 if I marry her now? Any suggestions/ideas are welcome.

VISA things are getting ridicules
My wife's passport was received from Delhi Consulate after about 21 business days.
My wife attended the H4 interview on Jan-11 and the VO asked 3 basic question of what does your husband do, what do you do and why are you going. No pink or green or any slip was given and nor my wife was told that her visa hasa been approved. All she was told was that they have to do some background processing after which they will send the passport back.
So what was supposed to be 2-3 days of work stretched for ever, off course flights had to be cancelled and wife had to drop the semester and my daughter had to miss the school as well. My wife's AP was approved after she had left for India,so couldn't even use that.
I know there is nothing an applicant can do or not do, but it just bothers me how much anguish this causes to not just the applicant but all of the immediate family and there is nothing that can be done.
I wish good luck to all who are stuck and hopefully in future this process might be more streamlined and have faster turnaround.

I got myself in somewhat of a mess here and wondering if there is any solution?
I filed for my I-485 on June 28th and it reached UCSIS on 2nd July. I wasn't able to do the same for my wife as she was in India at that time.
She is back now and I want to file her I-485 but my lawyer tells me I can not do that because it either needs to be filed concurrently with mine or they need to have a receipt for my I-485 which doesn't seem to be coming in the next few weeks.
Is there anything else I can do? Anyone has similar experiences? Will a copy of my I-485 filing do?

The updated Web site is organized according to categories.The categories are displayed as Topics, Forms, Resources, Laws, News, and About Us. The topics are categorized as follows: Adoption, Permanent Residence, Humanitarian, Citizenship, Members of the Military and Their Family, Family, Visit the U.S., Working in the U.S, and Genealogy. After clicking on a specific topic, I was provided helpful information and even more additional information was available through the links on the left of the screen.The advantage of categorizing the information by topic is that individuals are now able to familiarize themselves with the process from start to finish. There are other helpful links and tools within each specific topic.
Another key feature to the Web site is that there is a “where to start” link. COBRA is a good option but I know its crazy expensive. They also have a high deductible plan. If your friend does not have kids (or even if he does) you could opt for HD plan - their premiums are much lower (< $500 for family). eg. for a doctors visit, under normal plan he would be paying 40$ copay and insurance would pay in-network negotiated rate of say $120. With HD plan he would need to pay $120 for doctors visit until he reaches deductible of $6k for the year. Not a bad option if you are healthy individual - covers you well in worst case scenario... Ask your family doctor in india to send you imp drugs, antibiotics etc etc. Within 100$ you can cover all medicine expenses...

I never received FP notice and got EAD/AP almost three weeks back. Is there a need to worry? or just wait..
My application reached to texas..they transfered to Cal...cal issued the EAD/AP and senta transfer notice for 485 to nebraska..didn't hear anything from nebraska..
