Looks like from the posts from the main page that its a love-hate relationship between these job-shops. And the problem is analogous to chicken & egg problem, one can never understand who is insane and one cannot survive without the other.
Also may be this cannot be generalized but must be dealt on case by case basis. As every individual and entity and their circumstantial situation is different.

I received my EAD on 22nd July and in online status it still pending .Though I got to hard lud on my Wife's EAD " Card Production Ordered) . But my status still pending though I received the physical card

What is the specification for the passport photo? It it 2inch x 2inch or
is it 3.5cm by 3.5cm
I was preparing to use the same as that of GC process, 2inch x 2inch

When did you apply for AP renewal? Did you e-file? Don't worry about RFE on Advance Parole renewal. It could be photo or previous AP approval copy or I-485 receipt missing or incorrect fee. Wait until you get RFE. Please let us know, if it is trivial.

This was a GREAT week for all of us. Past three days have changed our discussion topics and we're now more concerned about doctor appointments and certificates. That is a good thing to talk about indeed. But lets not forget this battle goes on and we all need to be together in this journey. No one knows where one will be stuck!! Why is Gary looking outside of USA to tap potential home buyers? Just for folks who aren't aware - there are 500,000 high skilled legal immigrant already in USA who are waiting in queue for numbers of years to get their Permanent Residency. Thanks to the limited visa availability based on country chargeability (birth of applicant) and inefficiency of immigration system, these highly skilled, tax paying and law abiding immgrants are waiting for their Green Card (Permanent residency). Some of them have studied here, worked here for years and US is almost a second home to them. They are sitting on pile of cash, Yes - PILE OF HARD CASH. They wouldn't buy house or any big ticket items until they get Green card. Why not give these people, who are already part of our system, conditional Permanent Residency who buy houses. This will also get us immediately required cash and home inventory will go down as much as 300K at minimum. P.S. I AM TALKING ABOUT HIGH SKILLED LEGAL IMMGRANTS AND NOT ABOUT ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS.

Guru's please help with the following situation: Labor PD: Dec 2002, Labor approved Feb 2005, I-140 approved May 2005, Filed I-485 (because of retrogation) in May 2006 for both me and wife. Got EAD Dec 2006. Got laid off in Feb 2007 from sponsoring company and decided that I have had enough of US immigration waiting and returned to home country for good in April 2007. Changed address to friends US address for USCIS records just to make sure that any communication from USCIS does not get lost in the mail. Was sure that the employer will cancel the whole GC process. But to my suprise on April 21st 2008, received the automated email from USCIS that 485 has been approved. The I-797 approval notice of action was received at my friends US address with a note that the plastic card should arrive within 30 days. This was back in April-May 2008 time frame. Well the plastic card never arrived inspite of phone calls to USCIS to either cancel the 485 or send the card.
Can someone please educate me as to what I should do get the 485 cancelled and stop further processing of my wife's 485. I am afraid that I am stuck in a situation where the USCIS records indicate that I am a permanent resident when they never fully approved my case in time, while I have been out of the US for 2 years and do not intend to return. The US Consulate here has been of no help. Will this have any overhang for future US visits/immigration for me and my wife or for my children who are US Citizens.

(1) Should I select based on my salary? Big company offers more salary.
(2) I have to now start Greencard again. So should I choose big company or small ? Both said they will consider sponsoring if performance is good.

I am in company A on H1B and doing H1B transfer to Company B.
Company B is saying that I can join the same day on which the H1B transfer packet is received by USCIS.

I currently work in a big IT consulting firm (company A) thru H1. My uncle owns a very small (less than 100 ppl) consulting shop (company B). I want to join his company, but i dont want to transfer my h1 since B is small and there is lot more job stability in company A. So B is willing to sponsor future employment GC for me.
I will be joining company B in the same job desc as im working in company A. As it looks right now, I might have to take a small cut in salary to join company B, however im sure that salary difference will be a lot more once it gets to the 485 stages.
What do you think are the risks as compared to having a GC sponsored through a company where u already hold a H1? I understand that my intention to join might become an issue because of the salary issue, but wouldn't that be the case even if i filed for Company A, since company A would file a LC based on current wage and by the time of 485, I will be making a lot more.

1.He lost his and his wife's passport alongwith the receipt notices and FP notice.The current visa which has expired and I-94 is also lost.
2.The lost passport includes the old passport with old visa in it.

Co. B can file the PERM at any time, but ideally one year before the current H-1B expires, even if that is 8+ years into your H-1B status. Provided that you have a PERM on file 365 days before the end of your H-1B status, the company can extend again based on that PERM #2. The filing does not have to be before the end of your 6th year.
